Britain's dance institution turns 20 at Daresbury over the August Bank Holiday weekend: house, techno, trance, UKG and drum & bass on vast stages.
Creamfields took place from Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 August 2026 at Daresbury, Cheshire, Daresbury, UK, across 4 days. 8 names are on the bill, led by Calvin Harris. It is one of 109 EDM and Techno dates we list in the UK over the coming months.

Born from a Liverpool house night, Creamfields gathers EDM's big stages and techno's warehouses in the fields of Daresbury every August bank holiday weekend.
Before the festival there was Cream, a weekly house night at Nation, the former Snobs Disco on Wolstenholme Square in Liverpool, from October 1992 to June 2002. The first Creamfields took place on Saturday 2 May 1998 at the Matterley Estate near Winchester, Hampshire: one day, 25,000 people, with Sasha, Paul van Dyk, Daft Punk and Tony De Vit on the bill.
From 1999 the festival moved closer to its club, onto the old Liverpool airfield, where it stayed until 2005. In 2006, for its ninth edition, it moved to Daresbury in the Cheshire countryside and has never left. It went to two days in 2008, three after that and four in 2016; in 2017, for its twentieth birthday, the organisers raised capacity to 280,000 admissions over the weekend. The final day of 2012 was cancelled because of flooding, and the 2020 edition because of COVID-19.
The festival thinks in structures rather than themes: the Steel Yard, a 20-metre-high covered superstructure opened in 2016, a 30,000-capacity indoor stage in 2024, billed by the organisers as the largest in the world, then HALO, a 45-metre circular arena, in 2025. The brand belongs to Cream; Live Nation has run it since 2012. It tried a second UK edition, Creamfields South in Chelmsford, in 2022 and 2023, and has editions in Argentina, Chile and Malta.
The festival has won Best Dance Festival at the UK Festival Awards eight times between 2004 and 2015, and Best Major Festival in 2016. In 2026 it celebrated twenty years at Daresbury from 27 to 30 August, with more than 80,000 festivalgoers expected according to the organisers and more than 250 artists; the 2027 edition, from 26 to 29 August, marks its 30th anniversary.

The big indoor stage, 30,000 capacity, which arrived in 2024 and is billed as the world's largest indoor festival superstructure. Swedish House Mafia closed the 2026 edition there.

The steel shed opened in 2016, given over to house, techno and harder sounds. In 2026 Underworld celebrated 30 years of "Born Slippy" there and Amelie Lens premiered her AURA show.

A 45-metre circular open-air arena, opened in 2025 in place of Runway, with sound, light and video at 360 degrees above the crowd. House, techno and tech house, Carl Cox in 2026.

The campers' village since 2025, in five zones (Electric Avenue, The Ball Park, Sunrise Strip, The Boulevard, Pamper Street): sport, a gym, rave karaoke, hairdressing, and the Inflatable Church where you can get "married" for fun. In 2026, padel courts were added.

Tent-only camping across four tiers, from Standard to Gold, the latter with a hospitality area and a meal a day. For no setting up at all, there is Dreamfields (bell tents, tipis, cabins) and Pre-Pitch, the closest to the arena.
Creamfields covers the whole of dance music: EDM and big room on the Arc and under APEX, house and tech house at HALO, techno and hard techno in the Steel Yard, where Teletech runs its takeovers, plus trance, drum & bass and UK garage, and live electronic acts such as Disclosure, Underworld or The Prodigy.
In 2026 the bill brought together more than 250 artists, from Calvin Harris, Tiësto and Swedish House Mafia to Carl Cox, FISHER, CamelPhat and Pete Tong. For 2027 the organisers have already announced The Prodigy, back after fourteen years for the 30th anniversary of "The Fat of the Land", along with Franky Rizardo, Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Hannah Laing, Josh Baker, Kettama and Prospa.
