Location

The « biggest club in the world » is a football stadium: every early June, Frankfurt's Deutsche Bank Park, its stands, its forecourt, the forest around it and the pool next door turn into some fifteen dancefloors for three days.

The story

World Club Dome was born from a radio station. BigCityBeats, founded in 2005 by Bernd Breiter, marked its ninth birthday on 9 June 2013 by taking over the Waldstadion, Eintracht Frankfurt's stadium: under the name World Music Dome, 25,000 people saw more than 100 DJs, a main stage on the pitch and ten small « micro-floors » spread around the ground.

Growth was quick. Two days in 2014, three days and 14 stages in 2015 for 100,000 visitors in total, then a Pool Area in the neighbouring Stadionbad and a campsite in 2016 (120,000 visitors), and 140,000 in 2017, up to 45,000 a day. The brand spread out: an indoor Winter Edition in Gelsenkirchen then Düsseldorf, a Korean offshoot in Incheon, parabolic flights and cruises. In 2024 the football Euros took over the stadium in June and pushed the edition back to September; the same year BigCityBeats went insolvent and its assets were bought by Lafayette Mittelstand Capital, with tickets remaining valid.

For ten years every edition had its theme: a 250-metre red carpet from the helipad to the VIP entrance for the 2018 Hollywood Edition, a partnership with the European Space Agency and a message from Alexander Gerst aboard the ISS for the 2019 Space Edition, then Las Vegas, Atlantis for the tenth anniversary in 2023, Future and Moon. The principle stays the same: one pass opens the stadium, its forecourt, the stages set in the city forest and the pools, each space with its own style, from the headliners' EDM to the hardstyle of the Zombie Stage.

In 2026 the twelfth edition dropped the theme. Under David Wyrich and Philipp Maier, World Club Dome GmbH set up a 360-degree stage in the middle of the pitch with a rotating DJ platform, launched the UNREAL hard techno stage, expanded the sports programme with Eintracht Frankfurt and adopted a booking code that looks beyond the music. The organiser puts the 2023 edition at around 200,000 visitors over three days, on a site of about 70 hectares.

New in 2026, it stands in the middle of the stadium pitch, surrounded by the stands, with a rotating DJ platform that makes the artist visible from every side. It is the headliners' stage; the Front of Mainstage pass opens the area at its foot.

Grande scène extérieure

The large open-air stage in front of the stadium is the festival's second main stage. On Sunday it switches to German rap: in 2026 Haftbefehl, from Offenbach, and Frankfurt's own Vega played there on home turf.

UNREAL

Launched over two days in 2026, this monumental stage lines up concrete pillars around a suspended block of light. Its bill was pure hard techno (Cera Khin, Alba Franch, A.N.I., Azyr), and the festival has announced its return across all three days in 2027.

Pool Area

Since 2016 the festival has taken over the Stadionbad, the open-air pool next to the stadium. Its Pool Sessions have been a home for techno (Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Pan-Pot in 2022), and it was the only part of the festival able to go ahead in 2021; in 2026 there was even ski jumping into the pools.

Pelouse et lifestyle area

At the foot of the stadium, the lawn is a break between two stages, with hammocks and shade. In 2026 a new lifestyle area hosted the sports programme there: table tennis, yoga and the involvement of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Scènes de la forêt

The stadium sits in the middle of Frankfurt's city forest, and some stages are set among the trees, each with its own decor: the Waldbühne programmes trance and hardstyle, and in 2026 one stage was dressed with giant tennis balls.

The music

World Club Dome goes for breadth rather than a niche. EDM and big room hold the stadium stage, the large outdoor stage mixes house and electronic pop before switching to German rap on Sunday, techno long lived in the Pool Sessions until UNREAL gave it a full-size hard techno stage in 2026, the Waldbühne programmes trance and hardstyle, and the Zombie Stage remains home to the hardest sounds, hardstyle, hard techno and hardcore, to the point of touring clubs since 2025 as Zombie on Tour.

The bill mixes global stars and the German scene. In 2022 deadmau5, David Guetta and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike shared the weekend with Sven Väth and Angerfist; in 2023 Marshmello, Peggy Gou and Boris Brejcha; in 2025 Tiësto and Fisher. The 2026 line-up brought DJ Snake, Eric Prydz, Alok, James Hype, Robin Schulz and Lilly Palmer, with Bebe Rexha on the pop side and Haftbefehl on the rap side. For 2027 the website announces more than 150 artists on more than 13 stages; no names are out yet.
