A 22-hour rave in the Monegros desert near Fraga, Aragón, from 2pm on Saturday to noon on Sunday. It returns in 2027 after a 2026 edition that sold out for the first time in its history, with more than 60,000 people.
Monegros Desert Festival takes place on Saturday 31 July 2027 at Monegros Desert, Fraga, Spain. The line-up has not been published yet: we add it as soon as the promoter announces it. It is one of 48 Techno, House and Hard Techno dates we list in Spain over the coming months.

Twenty-two hours straight in an Aragonese desert: born in 1994 as a party for 250 friends in the farmyard of a family estate near Fraga, Monegros has become a temporary city of ten stages that rises from the ground for a single day in July.
It all starts on a farming estate owned by the Arnau family, in the heart of the Monegros desert on the edge of Fraga. As Juan and Cruz Arnau tell it, their parents, regulars at the town's Florida 135 club and inspired by the raves of England and central Europe, decided in the early 1990s to turn the farm's threshing floor into a dance floor. The first party took place in 1994 in the family farmyard, for about 250 people.
It became Groove Parade in 1996, organised with Sónar, then took the name Monegros Desert Festival for its tenth edition, in 2004. It moved to Saturdays, drew tens of thousands of people and opened its bill to hip-hop and electro: the official timeline cites first appearances by The Prodigy, Snoop Dogg, the Wu-Tang Clan, Justice and Pendulum. The twentieth anniversary, in 2014, was marked with an exclusive Skrillex performance. A long break followed: announced for 2020, the comeback was postponed twice because of the pandemic.
Monegros returned in 2022 to the land where it was born, with more than 120 artists, eleven stages and 2,000 workers according to the organisers. The festival calls itself a R.A.V.E, "Radical Audio Visual Experience": every stage has its own architecture, from the Sound System Temple, a city of speakers paying tribute to the illegal raves of the 1990s, to the Techno Cathedral and its neo-Gothic facade under shade sails, and an airliner cut into four, trucked in by road and reassembled as a club. Guest brands bring their own worlds, from elrow to Awakenings.
The Arnau family still runs the festival. In 2024 the thirtieth anniversary brought together 50,000 people from 90 countries, according to the organisers. In 2026 Monegros sold out for the first time in its history: more than 60,000 people from 97 countries, around 35% of them from abroad, ten stages and more than 120 artists, and for the first time two simultaneous closing sets, Richie Hawtin at the Techno Cathedral and Héctor Oaks on the new OUTWORLD stage. The organisers estimate the edition's economic impact at between 15 and 25 million euros for Aragon.

A neo-Gothic wooden facade under large shade sails, the flagship techno stage. In 2026 it hosted Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens, Joseph Capriati, Len Faki, Patrick Mason and Indira Paganotto, with Hawtin playing the closing set.
The Barcelona brand brings its costumed characters, sets and showers of streamers. In 2026 Seth Troxler, Marco Faraone, Manda Moor and Toni Varga were on its bill.
An airliner cut into four, trucked in by road in 2022 and reassembled as a club: 65 metres long and 8 metres wide according to the official site, for secret sets before a few hundred people.
Awakenings recreates its Amsterdam Gashouder stage at Monegros, under a radial-frame dome with a mirror ball. The stage was on the programme in 2024 and 2025.
A site of about 120,000 m² set in the desert at kilometre 416 of the N-II, surrounded by huge car parks. There is no campsite: the temporary city appears and disappears in less than a day.
Techno holds the heart of the festival, from the Techno Cathedral to the hard techno of UNREAL and OUTWORLD, the 360° stage by Klangkuenstler launched in 2026. The rest of the site changes colour: elrow's costumed party, the psytrance-tinged techno of ARTCORE, Indira Paganotto's brand, and secret sets in the plane. In 2025 Industry City played raw techno and makina, the Green Corner dub and roots reggae, and the Kaotik Sound System hardtek.
More than 120 artists in 2026: Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens, Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Ben Klock, Len Faki, Kobosil, Fatima Hajji, Héctor Oaks and Perc on the techno side, Seth Troxler and Marco Faraone at elrow, Astrix and Captain Hook b2b Ace Ventura at ARTCORE. In 2025 Pendulum and Rudimental flew the drum and bass flag, and Indira Paganotto played the closing set. The 2027 line-up has not been announced yet.
The site is in the Monegros desert, at kilometre 416 of the N-II, in the municipality of Fraga (Huesca), about 2 hours 30 from central Barcelona. Official return buses leave from Barcelona, Madrid, Lleida, Zaragoza, Valencia and Bilbao; on the way back they depart from 8am, as soon as they are full.
In 2026 the car parks opened the day before at 10am and closed on Sunday at 10pm, with a dedicated motorhome area, without water or electricity. The festival recommends car-sharing and warns that leaving the car parks takes several hours, with buses given priority.
There is no campsite, and camping in the car parks is forbidden. The festival offers accommodation and ticket packages nearby; for 2027 a VIP Tent, a private tent for up to five people, is also on sale.
Tickets are in the holder's name, sold by Enterticket and RebelTickets, with a €20 name-change fee. For 2027, general admission is €81 before fees (€85.05 with fees) in the sale opening on 29 October 2026, VIP €175 and VIP Gold €295 before fees; early birds are sold out.
Entry is for over-18s only, with ID required. The festival is cashless: you pay with an RFID wristband, topped up online or on site (€10 minimum), and unused credit is refunded afterwards minus €2. The reusable cup costs €2.
No outside food or drink; empty bottles (1 L maximum) are allowed and water is free on site. Bags are limited to 35 x 20 x 12 cm or 10 L. In 2026, leaving and coming back was only possible between 12:01am and 4am, for €25. A Punto Lila supports victims of sexual violence from start to finish.
