Paul Kalkbrenner, born 11 June 1977, is a German musician and producer who grew up in Lichtenberg, in what was then East Berlin. He performs live rather than as a DJ, rebuilding his tracks element by element on stage. He put out his first records on BPitch Control from 1999 under the name Paul dB+, then played Ickarus in the film Berlin Calling (2008), for which he wrote the soundtrack and the track "Sky and Sand", sung by his brother Fritz Kalkbrenner.
